Krister Engström's picture

Krister’s images express a strong fascination for architecture and design.
He has, since graduating from the School of Photography (University of Gothenburg) in 1998, been working as a freelance photographer for architecture firms, interior- and design magazines and advertisement bureaus. His photographs are characterized by a clean and coherent composition and a careful handling of the natural light.
In striving to find the angles which are highlighting the character of the motive, Krister approaches what is in front of the camera from a multitude of viewpoints. His aim is to make the photographic representation of the three-dimensional room capturing and mediating the motive’s unique features and designs. With the client’s ideas and needs as a springboard, his ambition is to create photographs that both awake interest and engage the beholder.

Krister also has been involved as a photographer in several book projects on architecture. To be mentioned, among others, are Västsvenska slott och herrgårdar (2011, Historiska Media), Stationshus (2009, Balkong Förlag), och Guide till Göteborgs arkitektur (2006, Arkitektur Förlag).
